No último domingo (22) aconteceu em Los Angeles a cerimônia de entrega das estatuetas do Emmy Awards, um dos prêmios mais importantes da televisão americana. A premiação não contou com apresentadores, assim como o Oscar deste ano.
Indicada a 32 categorias, Game Of Thrones levou para casa as estatuetas de Melhor Série de Drama e o de Melhor Ator Coadjuvante em Série de Drama para Peter Dinklage, que venceu esta mesma categoria quatro vezes. Vale lembrar que a série, que teve último episódio exibido em maio, levou a melhor em outras 10 categorias no Creative Arts.
A principal destaque da noite foi “Fleabag”, que venceu as categorias de Melhor Série de Comédia, Melhor Direção em Série de Comédia, Melhor Roteiro em Série de Comédia e Melhor Atriz em Série de Comédia, para a criadora, atriz e roteirista da série, Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
A noite também contou com uma performance emocionante da cantora Halsey, que cantou o clássico de Cyndi Lauper, a música “Time After Time”, enquanto eram mostradas no telão as fotos de atores, diretores e outros membros da indústria que faleceram nos últimos 12 meses.
Além disso, o Emmy Awards deste ano foi marcado por um momento histórico. Billy Porter venceu a categoria de Melhor Ator em Série de Drama pela atuação em “Pose” e se tornou o primeiro ator negro e gay venceu na categoria. O ator competia com Jason Bateman, Sterling K Brown, Kit Harrington, Milo Ventimiglia e Bob Odenkirk.
